OrbitZR vs Monday.com

A Monday.com alternative for teams that want the board, not the build-your-own-platform project.

Monday.com is a configurable work platform you shape to your process, which is powerful and takes real setup time. OrbitZR is opinionated: it is a board, with access control, daily records, automation and reporting already built. If you want to start working today rather than design a system first, OrbitZR gets you there faster.

Where Monday.com is the better choice

  • Near-unlimited customisation across sales, HR, operations and marketing in one platform.
  • A very large template and app marketplace.
  • Mature enterprise governance, permissions and compliance tooling.
  • Strong dashboarding and cross-board analytics.

Where OrbitZR is the better choice

  • No seat minimums, so a team of three pays for three.
  • Timed Access and the immutable Daily Task log, neither of which Monday offers natively.
  • An opinionated product that does not require a configuration phase before it is useful.
  • Automation included rather than metered as a per-plan action allowance.

The two things Monday.com does not do

Timed Access

Restrict a board to a weekly schedule. Outside allowed hours, non-admin members are automatically removed or switched to read-only, then restored when the window reopens. Built for contractors, offshore teams and client boards where access should not be permanent.

Daily Task

One list holding a single card per day, split into Today and Past. Record the day as you work. When the day ends the card closes permanently and cannot be edited by anyone, including admins, so the log is a record rather than a draft.

OrbitZR vs Monday.com: common questions

Is OrbitZR cheaper than Monday.com?

Can OrbitZR replace Monday.com for non-project work?

Does OrbitZR limit automation runs?

There is a monthly workspace command-run limit on lower plans, shown on the pricing page. Automation itself is included on every paid plan rather than sold as an add-on.

What is Timed Access?

It restricts a board to a weekly schedule. Outside allowed hours, non-admin members are automatically removed or switched to read-only, then restored when the window reopens.

The company behind OrbitZR

Built and maintained by KawachTech

OrbitZR is designed, built and supported by KawachTech, a software engineering company building web platforms, mobile applications and custom business software. OrbitZR is our own product rather than an outsourced project, which means the people who wrote the scheduling engine and the audit trail are the same people who answer when you report a problem.

If you need something OrbitZR does not do, or you want a platform of your own built on the same foundations, the KawachTech software development team takes on custom engagements directly.

Product engineering

SaaS platforms built end to end, from multi-tenant architecture and billing through to the front end.

Mobile applications

Cross-platform iOS and Android apps, including the OrbitZR mobile app that ships alongside the web product.

AI integration

Practical AI inside real products, like the project health analysis and board assistant built into OrbitZR.

Custom business software

Internal tools, workflow systems and integrations for teams whose process does not fit off-the-shelf software.
